Why do each resource have different prices for second-level domains?

Links are provided not for the purpose of advertising, but for example.
On the nic.ru website, let's say a domain costs 500 rubles, and on the 2domains.ru website, the same domain will cost 99 rubles.
This begs the question, which of the resources works in the red and why? Or not negative? And why does everyone buy for 500 rubles, if there is for 99?

"To work in the red" means "to work below cost", but what could be the cost of registering a domain for a registrar? What it essentially consists of - from the wage fund and operating expenses. The payroll can be reduced by arranging employees informally or reducing their number. How many employees does such a registrar need? One and a half people, including the CEO. The reseller's operating costs should not be high either - they take domains in bulk from someone else, have a good discount, and in fact pay only for their site + some percentage to a higher registrar from one domain. And the turnover at such a price should be quite significant.

and the renewal will cost more than 299 rubles on 2domains.ru. although this is less than on the same nic.ru,
it should be noted that 2domains is a partner of reg.ru, they do everything through the reg.ru api

The purchase price of the domain is less than 80 rubles. There are many registrars that provide services at a low cost compared to nic.ru.
As for 2domains: by contacting them you get a registration restriction only for individuals. face. And a higher renewal fee (300). Although I think it's right: miser should be punished.
