Why do developers prefer Moscow to other cities as part of labor migration to the Russian Federation?

Now I am choosing a city for labor migration as a developer. I ask all my friends who also left, everyone advises to choose Moscow. Even those who first went to Novosibirsk or St. Petersburg, then went to Moscow anyway. They say more work, better pay, etc.
There was just an article on my circle with purchasing power indices. And it seems like St. Petersburg is ahead of Moscow in this index. But somehow this does not stop people, and many still prefer Moscow.
What is the reason that the developers are going to Moscow?

I have been living in Moscow for almost 2 years and do not plan to leave, except perhaps to another metropolis.
What I like:
1) There is really a lot of work for IT specialists. The last time I opened a resume on websites, I received more than 60 invitations to social services, only in the first 5 working days.
2) Constant IT movement - meetups, conferences, etc.
3) A large number of different services. For example, you want pizza at 12 at night, you get delivery in 20-30 minutes.
4) High level of medicine
5) People are more polite and friendly than in the regions.
6) Convenient public transport, cheap taxis, carsharing and that's it.
In general, for normal IT specialists, Moscow is now no worse than European cities. Our income allows us to live very comfortably.

1. It was a very so-so article.
2. In Moscow, only housing is more expensive.
3. In Moscow, not so much the salary is higher (compared to St. Petersburg), but the market volume is larger, and hence the choice of technologies and projects.
4. In Moscow, the level of social services is higher in all areas.
5. Many goods and services are widely available only in Moscow
6. Air travel is much better in Moscow (not at all comparable to the rest of Russia).
But there are also disadvantages.
This is the rhythm of life
More costs for services, they are more expensive and there are more of them
Incomparable cost of real estate, in St. Petersburg you can easily rent a house near the office, in Moscow this can be difficult.
From here, the time to work and back can easily exceed 4 hours.
There are a lot of people everywhere

the fish is looking for where it is deeper, and the man is looking for where it is better.
better for the first generation after the poor scoop - the amount of income in absolute terms. our children will have a completely different psychology. may be.
