Why do browsers and VSCode slow down?

Hello.
I'm new to linux, so I need help from knowledgeable people.
I installed Linux mint, and faced with the fact that the system freezes. It's not critical, but it's very noticeable with respect to windows. (Everything flew on Windows).
Specifically noticeable in browsers, and in VS Code.
I understand that there can be a lot of reasons, but still there may be those who have encountered this? How did you solve this problem?
PS: Linux installed on a solid state hard drive (120 GB)
