Why do anti-skimmers on Alfa-Bank ATMs have a closed part on the side of the magnetic tape?

I have repeatedly read, including in discussions here and articles on Habré, that the anti-skimmer on an ATM must have an open part on the side of the magnetic stripe of the card. However, for example, in the Lyudmila branch of Alfa-Bank (Zemlyanoy Val), green anti-skimmers look completely opposite - the closed part is on the side of the magnetic tape! Moreover, at all ATMs (3 pcs.) in the branch; I tried to pull - it sits tight) What is this - a new type of anti-skimmer? Couldn't skimmers have been installed in the department, under cameras and guards on all 3 ATMs of the new "alpha" design? ..

I work in Alpha in the region, like all ATMs with a left anti-skimmer. If you are interested, please contact the security service of this branch.

What carders won't do to get your money.
In our city, there was a skimmer and an overlay (clave) right on the ATM that comes out from the walls of the bank.
But you can come up and ask Alfa-Bank what kind of thing it is)

Thanks everyone for the replies! ) Yesterday I ended up in this department again, asked the employees. They said, ATMs of this type, and the presence of skimmers in these receiving devices is checked every 10 minutes. True, they didn’t say how (didn’t want to reveal the secret?). :)
At the same time, in another branch nearby - ATMs of a different type, with gray receivers, smaller, left anti-skimmer.
