Why did Windows 7 Pro only see computers running Windows 7 Pro on the network?
There is a home network.
2 computers with win7pro
1 computer with win7 initial
1 computer with Ubuntu and samba
1 virtual machine with win7 Ultimate
At some point, one of the computers with win7 pro started to see ONLY computers with win7 Pro (or maximum). You can access other computers only by entering \\ip_address, you can't get to other computers by name.
On all other computers, everyone sees each other normally.
What could be the reason?

Network card settings or domain policy interfere.
You can check the first one in the absence of a domain - by removing the network card from the devices (it will be created anew), the second can be checked on the domain controller.
First, take a look at the event log. you should be interested in the system log. see if there are any warnings or errors regarding netbios or wins. if there is - google what they mean or drop it here.
in the tcp/ip v4 settings for the network adapter, make sure that the use of netbios is not set to "disabled". if it's worth it, change it to "default", reboot and wait half an hour, then check.
if this is not the case - for diagnostics, try disabling the firewall and wait half an hour. if it helped - make sure that there are no prohibiting rules related to netbios; try creating permissions.
and more... "unnecessary" services weren't turned off by chance recently?
