Why did Vue.js become popular in conjunction with Ruby on Rails?

Looking through the message boards, it seems to me that there is a certain trend of using Vue.js with Rails. Are there any technical prerequisites for this in the Vue.js architecture? Does the Vue.js + Rails bundle have any advantages over React.js + Rails for example

Vue can be used in conjunction with anything, it has become more popular in conjunction with rails, simply because it has become more popular itself as a framework
