Flash drives and other devices work fine. The mouse does not work in safe mode. When booting from another OS on a PC, the mice work.
I rolled back the system, checked for viruses for everyone, cleaned out the remnants of Microsoft mouse drivers in the registry and on the disk, cleaned the USB, USBSTOR and HID registry branches with ERD-commander, restored the mouse classes to the default branches in the registry - does not help.
