Why did they cut out ifconfig in new Ubuntu distributions?

Good evening. Recently, I had to reinstall the OS a bit and noticed an interesting feature of the brand new xsubunty, ifconfig got lost somewhere ... What did he not like so much or was he found a replacement?

@Wexter

Because ifconfig has been outdated for 5 years already. He was replaced by iproute

will persist even in 20.04 focal fossa focal/amd64/net-tools/filelist we'll see later.
just don't put a buy-default, see ky0's answer, install
