I decided to connect it without an extension cord (1 meter) and suddenly the laptop found it. Before that, for a year now, I connected it with an extension cord and everything was fine. After reinstalling windows, he suddenly stopped seeing him with an extension cord.
How can this be? What can you try to do?
PS I also have a second usb modem and he also stopped seeing it with an extension cord, i.e. it's not the modem.

Update the drivers for the chipset and USB hub if it is a separate chip. Clean the contacts of the USB connector with a cotton swab dipped in lighter gasoline. Good luck.
