Why did SSH stop letting through Putty?

Hey! Apparently I don’t know something about Ubuntu, tell me.
There is an ubuntu droplet on Digital Ocean (OpenLiteSpeed Django + Wordpress). The error appeared after trying to work on security - change the password and SSH port number: Putty stopped letting. The terminal does not even show an invitation to log in, it is empty. A minute later - a message about the timeout. But at the same time, the Digital Ocean terminal plows correctly. The server rebooted means DO.
I changed the password using passwd, changed the SSH port number in sshd.conf, then rebooted with the command service sshd restart. Witness everything ended correctly. This is evidenced by the ability to enter through the DO terminal. The site also works correctly.
What did you do wrong? How to return the location of Putty and faith in humanity?

@Shigaev

Maybe the port is blocked?
In general, changing the ssh port is a waste of time, this recommendation roams the tutorials
