Why did Owncloud LDAP users only start showing up after logging in?

There was an Owncloud 9 server with ldap user authentication.
The user was added to the AD group, and in the ownCloud settings they clicked "Recalculate users" and the user immediately appeared in the list.
The server was updated to Owncloud version 10.0.10 and now when adding a user to AD and clicking "Recalculate users", the user does not appear in the ownCloud list. It only appears after logging into ownCloud itself.
How to make so that users are added at once?
