Why did icons stop being created on the desktop?

Good afternoon!
I installed an application for myself to try this application , and it broke my desktop for me.
When I right-clicked, I used to have options like "Open terminal" and so on, but now this is it.
All neatly lined up icons are gone.
Now icons are not even created on it. Help to restore, please)
