Why can Windows 10 crash?

Windows 10 stops responding for some unknown reason, and the only way to regain control of the system is to press the Reset button. When the computer restarts everything is fine again. It all started about 2 weeks ago, with one case, lately more and more often. Moreover, this only happens with a running Microsoft Edge. When it wasn't working, it never crashed. I can’t even imagine what could be thrown off to resolve the situation, maybe some logs?
