Why can't you transform a Google map?

I can't figure out why you can't apply the transform property to a Google map.
Here is an example where a property is applied to a div, but then when the map is loaded, it stops working.

If I take a remote resource (.js, .css, .jpg...) via https, and the site with the resource is available via http. Or vice versa. Is it always possible to take? 3Reply
