Why can't you include styles in the middle of the BODY?

Why can't you insert link tags with styles in the middle of the page? What problems can this cause?

Who said you can't? - can. Just not according to "Orthodox" it.

It's possible, but what's the point? Usually it just doesn't make sense.
Although in some quick typing it can be convenient to hang an event on it right next to the element, for example - for speed and clarity.
