Why can't Mozilla Thunderbird authenticate with encrypted password in Zimbra 8.6.0?

Good afternoon,
installed Zimbra 8.6.0. When setting the authorization method "Encrypted password" (encrypted password)
and connecting STARTTLS, SSL / TLS Thunderbird swears that "it seems this authorization method is not
supported" and mail cannot be retrieved from the IMAP server. If the passwords are normal "normal password"
everything works fine. Do not tell me what is missing in Zimbr, can it be fixed?

What for? If there is STARTTLS - it's all encrypted anyway, what difference does it make to you in what form the password moves over a secure channel?
