Why can't I restore a differential backup?

According to the maintenance plan, a full backup should have been made in the morning. During the day - differentials once an hour. In the evening, all this is packed and carried. The next day - in a new file in a circle.
At some point, a full backup could not be made (the skl could not access the file) and he missed the task - he made a diff to a new file.
According to the recovery chain - it seems to be loaded, but for some reason it writes an error:

System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: Невозможно восстановить журнал или разностную резервную копию, 
так как нет файлов, готовых к накату.
