Why can't I connect a USB hub to a USB 3.0 port?

Writes that the driver could not be installed. Connects to usb 2.0 fine. But after all, I calmly connect a mouse, keyboard and printer to 3.0, where USB 2.0, that is, the versions seem to be backwards compatible. Hub is something special or what?

The printer on 3.0 works for me with big problems, it also slipped on Habré about compatibility problems with many devices.
And in general, there is a lot of discussion on the Internet. Here is a question on a toaster on a similar topic:
USB 3.0 ports do not see an external hard drive
There is an assumption on setting up the power of the port, I also met it on the Internet, try it.

Often a "good" USB 3.0 port reacts to a bad (in terms of quality) USB 2.0 cable.
Well, or there is a shortage of drivers for USB 3.0 itself

I would try to change the usb cable, update the firewood on the motherboard / usb3 controller board.
By the way, a question for connoisseurs - does USB3 work in its own way, USB3 cable, or is usb2 cable compatible in the same way as sata cables?
