Why aren't GNOME extensions installed via Chrome?

Good afternoon everyone.

Can't install gnome extensions from https://extensions.gnome.org/ via Chrome. Nothing happens when you toggle the button - no installation confirmation pop-ups. When the page is reloaded, the button switches back to the OFF state. I tried to install the extension for Firefox, but nothing works there either.

* I already have gnome-tweaks and related browser extensions installed
** Reinstalling chrome-gnome-shell didn't change anything.

Just a few months ago everything was working. Ubuntu LTS 20.04, GNOME Shell version - 3.36

So do you have GNOME or the default GNOME Shell?!
Those are different things...
