Why are video tutorials evil?

For all 3 years of programming, I learned 90% from video lessons. It is easier for me to perceive information that is given by example, and the lecturer explains and writes the topic code. However, I often began to notice that many write about the incorrectness of this approach.
It's not that I don't like books, I enjoy reading novels, non-fiction, detective stories and other mostly entertaining literature. BUT as soon as I take up books about programming, higher mathematics and the like, I start to fall asleep after an hour of study, and after 2 days I completely abandon it, starting to look for the same information as video lessons.
It always seemed to me that it doesn’t matter how you study something, the main thing is that in the end you will gain knowledge and achieve the ultimate goal. The only problem was outdated information, or information that simply isn't in the videos, but there's a lot of it in the books.
And don't think I didn't try. Was trying. Lot. I read both literature written in simple language, and the one that is written by avid mathematicians and programmers, and ordinary books on these topics. I wrote down important points in a notebook, and reread one page several times, but everything led to one result - the book was in the basket, and the information from it flew into my left ear.
I think the problem of perception is in clip thinking.
Explain to me why video tutorials are evil, and books are a savior. How do you read such literature and how can I not die after every page? Thank you.

You partially answered your own question.
These are warning signs of poor brain function. If you do not cope with this, you will not be able to rise above the jun. Actually, how much have you learned in three years?
And read the answer to this question: Is it necessary to read a book on language/technology to be a true and advanced coder?
