Why are there so few vacancies for Python and Ruby developers in Novosibirsk?
First of all, I start from the state of affairs in Novosibirsk, but the situation is more or less repeated in other (large) cities of Russia.
As a rule, knowledge of Python, Ruby, if indicated in vacancies, is precisely as additional languages. If we talk about web development, then PHP vacancies unconditionally dominate.
And over the years, the situation has not fundamentally changed.
The opinion of the habra community is interesting. In particular, are there any prerequisites that the situation will change?

Novosibirsk is the third largest city in Russia. I definitely would not ask for Nizhnee Biryulyovo :) I added it
in the question about large cities.
In my personal opinion, one of the reasons is the chicken and egg problem. For developers to be on the market, there must be vacancies. To have vacancies there must be developers.
The lack of developers is a risk for business. It is difficult to find a replacement programmer.
Well, on the part of the developers, consider two points of view. From the beginners side, there is almost nowhere to go as a mainstream programming language. On the part of experienced developers, they already know PHP well, but becoming newbies again is not very pleasant, the prospects are foggy and then mostly freelance. Which is not for everyone.
PHP is both simple and practical at the same time. And, importantly, very popular. But Python and Ruby provide more language options and also have a developed infrastructure. True, they are very popular only abroad. But at least some tangible percentage of developers should be in Novosibirsk! At least I really want to.
Well, it's just that there are very few ruby and python developers, besides, the demand for them in the world is large. On the same freelance, you can earn more than you are ready to offer in NSC. At one time I looked at rubists, their price tags of 50-60 dollars per hour pleased me.
Python is usually not written for business card sites and home pages. And the demand for this kind of work is naturally greater than for the development of web applications. Therefore, PHP nicknames are required everywhere.
