Why are Java developers more in demand than C# developers?

I do not call for holivar!

Some time ago, I became interested in which language is more promising: C# or Java. I read the forums and did not find an explanation - either outdated information (the branches were created 2-3 years ago), or it was said that C # is better and there is no point in proving it, because everyone understands this anyway.

Another opinion:

I am a C# developer, but would advise the author to learn Java. Desktop applications are a dying development direction, everything is moving to either web or mobile applications.

I have questions:
1) Why did you like Java/C# so much
2) Why is the enterprise written mainly in Java?
3) Why are Javisists paid more?

I understand that you shouldn't cross languages, but Java and C# solve similar problems, so why not.

Why do you like Java so much?

Before that, I wrote in Assembly and C. In this comparison, Java is a very cozy and friendly language.
Why is Enterprise written primarily in Java?

Because by the time .NET became truly cross-platform, Java had already taken over the market a long time ago. And the corporate sector does not like change.
Why are Javisists paid more?

Because Java has already taken over the market for a long time.

Sharps and Java are somewhere on the level, there are jokes on both sides about the inferiority of the language. For example download oracle jdk. Java subjectively eats memory Sharps now pulled themselves up, and now it's about 5 years old. There are both Unity and Khamarin and there is no core 3 which will soon become 5. Good support, by the way, was made by jetbrain, cleaned out these stables and made Kotlin. In general, the difference is small.
