Why are images upside down?

Recently such a problem appeared. Computer on Win8.1
Photos taken on iphone 4 (iOS 7.1) and copied to a computer in File Explorer or any image viewer or even Photoshop look fine, but if you try to paste them into the browser (as an attachment to a letter or add to a tweet , for example), they are inserted upside down.
Tried different browsers.
What the hell is this?

iphone writes its orientation in the metadata of the photo, and some apps do not know how or do not use this data, so you need to re-save such pictures.
