Why are 2 banners shown instead of one on the site?

I use the Adsense affiliate program, I created an ad block for articles, when I insert a banner on a page, one block appears where necessary, and the second appears before the article itself. I used to use automated ads, but now I've turned it off. Thanks in advance!
