Why an article and not a post?

Why do the authors of Habr call their posts "Articles", although in the "terminology" of the site (in its menu) there are only "Posts"?

@scahr

historically developed and accepted by the majority
upd: IMHO - a post is something small, 1-2 paragraphs in size. The same that spread on Habré unequivocally articles. Especially if you take the definition of the Wikipedia article
Also Post according to wikipedia
I would not call habr a forum. It is more like an online magazine in which readers are the authors of the articles. A fine line, but I hope you understand me.
