Who is the furthest advanced in creating artificial intelligence that understands meanings from data?

Hello.
Are there laboratories, companies, projects on the "cutting edge"? Who / what is worth reading - subscribe. Ready to read academic papers. There is no clear understanding of how the industry is developing.

No one, thank God, has advanced at all yet, due to the fact that no one understands how our brain functions fully, and no one can come up with a brain from scratch, so we won’t see Skynet in the near future.

I think if I created AI, I would not tell anyone about it. otherwise, he would immediately become an object of persecution by interested parties. I would use it in tihar without attracting attention))). And so I like what GOOGLE does. in my opinion they are heading in the right direction, unlike many others that put more emphasis on looks.

First you need to clearly define what should be understood by the word "meaning". Without this, the question is invalid.

It depends what you mean by "advance". If we talk about scientific advancement, then everything is fine there. The concept of "meaning" is quite well studied and broken down into simpler concepts. You can read about symbol grounding/anchoring, transfer learning, embodiment, etc. If we talk about final ready-made solutions, then the necessary amount of technology and the level of systematization of knowledge has not yet been reached, according to my information.
