Who has experience using (un)licensed music in games and applications?
Good afternoon!
There are a few tracks I'd like to use in a game I'm developing for iOS and Android (and would like to try out in the Store for a minimum price of $0.99). As far as I know, the rights to these tracks belong to APM Music, although, perhaps, a license can be purchased somewhere else (I haven’t fully figured out the issue yet).
Actually the question is: did anyone try to buy or not to buy music licenses for their developments, and how much did it cost or what turned out.
Thank you.

It is best to create your own music (albeit from samples, in programs for creating music). For games, this music is quite suitable. But if you take a melody for which another company (especially an American one) has the rights, you will not have any problems. We got in trouble even because our program had the word "TODO" (namely, in capital letters), as it turned out to be a registered trademark of some company (not related to computers at all, and we were almost sued. With music I advise you not to joke, everything is more serious there.
Look for Creative Commons or Royalty Free music. Instead of free music, bypass it - it will be calmer.
By the way, MP3 is also paid to use for games, if the number of their copies exceeds some there. It's better to use aac.
APM is a very serious company, it's better not to mess with it. He himself is indirectly connected with post-production and music for trailers, he came across them.
Here is a good site with inexpensive and legal music: pond5.com
