Which version of Visual Studio to choose for further study of C # according to Schildt's book "C# 4.0 The Complete Guide"?

I am learning C# from Schildt's book C# 4.0 The Complete Guide. The book contains all the examples on Visual Studio 2010. As far as I know, Visual Studio 2013 has already been released. Which version of Visual Studio, of course, Express version to download for further study. Thank you.

It doesn't matter at all. Even if the version is lower, this is not critical, the main thing is that the .Net version is not lower. You can generally use alternative IDEs - SharpDevelop for example.

2010 is enough, but who will forbid the use of the latest software? For study, these versions will not differ much in anything except for appearance. So it is possible and Express 2013 for Desktop.

If express version, then Express 2013 for Desktop

I myself once read this book and I’ll tell you this:
If you don’t want to bother your head and look only to the future, then set 2013 and don’t worry. If you value the past, then put 2010.
ps Each studio has its own characteristics, if you ever need to write system software in C++, you will have to return to 2010 for the sake of compatibility.
