Which technology stack to choose for a portfolio site: RoR vs. wordpress?

Hello, I have a task to build a website for one studio. The site requires a page with works, a news feed, feedback and an admin panel for adding content. Template will be provided. I have layout skills. Now I'm studying Ruby on Rails at the beginner's level (I've more or less mastered the syntax, I'm solving simple problems, I'm going to master MVC). Skills of working with Wordpress, PHP and other complete zero.
As I understand it, Wordpress is great for this task and has a low entry threshold. If you look in the direction of RoR, then for some reason I'm afraid that there will be many problems and errors, and also that I won't be able to find ready-made gems for the above tasks (I'm unlikely to master the admin panel from scratch). It is important for me to quickly and least painfully complete the task, and I don’t know what will be faster: to finish mastering RoR or to learn Wordpress from scratch.
That's how it is in general. Thank you.
PS If this somehow affects, then in addition to layout, there is good knowledge of Java programming, that is, I am not new to OOP.

I don't think a portfolio site needs an entire pop-up app.
From myself, I highly recommend doing this on Jekyll + Sinatra.
If the framework of the concept of the first one interferes, you can simply go to the sinatra.
If you know Ruby well, then there will be no difficulties at all.
And so - of course, any CMS is the easiest option, since the functionality you need is very standard and trivial.

It seems to me that everything is obvious here.
If you have time to develop a site, from 2 weeks, you can write on RoR, of course, then you will have to support this project, fix errors, etc. All this will fall on your shoulders.
If you need to quickly, and most importantly the result - WP.
Moreover, you have skills in layout. It doesn't take much to build a website with WP. There is clear documentation, hundreds of modules for solving non-standard tasks, and articles both in the En and Ru zones.
PS I don't like WP :)
