There will be visits to certain sites, frequent password entries, financial transactions, transfers from wallets and vice versa, trading, etc.
Stability and good protection of the connection from the outside is required. I thought to build a nettop and roll up a monowall, but is that enough...? And does it fit...?

Almost any router will do, some vendors may have bookmarks from manufacturers, but they are unlikely to be interested in you. A nettop is superfluous for this, look towards mikrotiks, a fairly rich functionality and stable operation for its price, although it can be difficult to figure it out out of habit.
