Which router to choose for blocking ads?
For the home, it is possible without Wi-Fi, as cheap as possible, but without sacrificing quality and reliability (to turn it on and forget about it).
Ad blocking, of course, via DNS - redirecting ad network domains to 127.0.0.1. Although some do redirect to 0.0.0.0 - why is it bad?
I read about the fact that Mikrotik is used for these purposes. For example, here about it it is written. It turns out that he is the only one of his kind for such a task? If so, which model is ideal, what to look for?

Any. In the connection settings, specify the DNS that are filtering. If there are services from an Internet provider, then there may be problems. For example, a player with IPTV does not work for me with third-party DNS.
I will offer an alternative: local DNS, for example, on raspberries, for example, pi hole :)
