Which processor to choose, in a special case?

Now there is an intel core i5 6400 (under warranty) on an asus h110 motherboard.
They offered to change it to i7 7700 (without warranty) by paying a little extra.
It seems to me that now I lack the i5, although all the reviewers say they say overclock the i5 6400 and you will be happy.
Should I buy the 7700 or overclock the 6400? does it make sense to move?
