Which power manager is suitable for i3wm? What can I do to keep the laptop working with the lid closed?

The fact is that when I close the lid in Unity, the laptop does not fall asleep, because Unity has its own Power manager, while i3wm does not. I tried Xfce4-power-manager but it didn't work, tried as it says HERE
My .i3/config:

##ТУТ ВСЕ КАК У ВСЕХ###

# resize window (you can also use the mouse for that)
mode "resize" {
        # These bindings trigger as soon as you enter the resize mode

        # Pressing left will shrink the window’s width.
        # Pressing right will grow the window’s width.
        # Pressing up will shrink the window’s height.
        # Pressing down will grow the window’s height.
        bindsym j resize shrink width 10 px or 10 ppt
        bindsym k resize grow height 10 px or 10 ppt
        bindsym l resize shrink height 10 px or 10 ppt
        bindsym semicolon resize grow width 10 px or 10 ppt

        # same bindings, but for the arrow keys
        bindsym Left resize shrink width 10 px or 10 ppt
        bindsym Down resize grow height 10 px or 10 ppt
        bindsym Up resize shrink height 10 px or 10 ppt
        bindsym Right resize grow width 10 px or 10 ppt

        # back to normal: Enter or Escape
        bindsym Return mode "default"
        bindsym Escape mode "default"
}

bindsym $mod+r mode "resize"

# Start i3bar to display a workspace bar (plus the system information i3status
# finds out, if available)
bar {
    position top
        status_command i3status

}
#ВОТ ЭТУ СТРОЧКУ Я ДОБАВИЛ!!!
exec -no-startup-id sleep 3 && xfce4-power-manager

What would you advise me to do to keep my laptop with the lid closed?

@krll-k

Just add these lines to ~/.xsession and start a new i3wm session from lightdm:
The .xsession file must be executable.
OR

# i3 config
exec sh .fegbg
exec xfce4-power-manager
