Which platform to study for websites?

Good afternoon everyone, I understand that there is no definite answer, but at least understand what is required to a greater extent now and whether it is worth studying. I spent a lot of time doing layout using js, a little php. But when registering for a profira, all applications are poured in with the fact that the site needs to be made on the platform or put on the platform. And 80% is WordPress. But somehow I heard that he was supposedly very slow. So I want to understand which platform it might be worth starting with, which one is popular, or maybe you need to forget about popularity and learn flexible and nimble?

If 80% of requests for WP - that's the answer to the question of what you need to study.
WordPress is slow. Toyota is reliable. Land Rover breaks down.
Stereotypes. This is not always the case, it all depends on the specific conditions.

- if you have millions of visitors per day and a constant online of 100 thousand uniques - it may be "slow", but 99.9% of sites can only dream of such a load, so there is nothing wrong with WordPress, just right for small and medium businesses.

Consider Flextype as a variant, just in a week there will be a new release
