You need to decide on the OS for the home server in the role of which the laptop. I put the gameAP panel on the site and I want to run game servers on the "server" through it. Which OS is less demanding, because the laptop is not very powerful (4 cores + 4 GB of RAM)?

ubuntu server. greatly save memory on the graphical interface.
