Which OS to choose for games?

What is easier to put to launch relatively old toys? Space Rangers 2, Cossacks, С&C Red Alert, Bioshok, Warcraft 3, Starcraft 2, etc.
Options: any Windows (XP/7/8) or still use linux+wine?

For rangers - XP. 7 is also possible, but there you have to tinker a bit: there are often problems with the image (it does not update). But there are solutions on the Internet. There will be no problems with the second StarCraft on the seven, but the first one will have a bad picture. But there are also solutions on the Internet. C&C, as far as I remember, goes on the seven without problems, and very well, but I don’t know about the rest.

And if it's even older, in the days of our youth (although I'm already 21 :), then you can also install DOSBox.

Windows 7 - compatibility with old toys is still present.
There is a virtual machine on it Windows XP Mode - free!
Here is a detailed article: windows.microsoft.com/ru-ru/windows7/install-and-u...
