Which one to choose VPS Xen or OpenVZ, which consumes less resources?
Can you please tell me where resources are consumed less in Xen or OpenVZ, if we take the standard CentOS distribution as a basis? Like memory? Am I correct in assuming that OpenVZ will consume less memory since OpenVZ is based on the Linux kernel in the OS.

OpenVZ is containerization at its core.
There is less overhead.
But - where will you distribute the current version of OpenVZ now?
Except maybe Virtuozzo. But it is commercial - paid.
From memory, they all have a slight difference.
The difference is bigger between them - only in the processor , not in memory. From memory - there is a nonsense difference
. Today, both Xen and OpenVZ are not relevant.
KVM is the de facto standard.
Technologies are selected according to the tasks. For the web, for example, OVZ will do just fine and it’s easier to manage resources.
yes, less if you are a host yourself, but if you just buy vpski, then it doesn’t make much difference
