For those who want to keep things simple, there is a special series: "Head First".
There certainly is nowhere easier.
Good afternoon!
If you want to read something after Java Head First, then you should probably read:
1) Herbert Schildt - The Beginner's Guide to Java.
2) Herbert Schildt - The Complete Guide to Java.
In theory, you can immediately start reading the second book.
Shieldt is good, but the presentation is more like a reference guide. Eckel chews material much better (for a beginner). These two books are worth reading at the same time, in parallel, chapter by chapter, complementing Eckel's Shield. Also, Eckel's plus is in the practical tasks for the messenger of each paragraph, they are simple, but the topics in the cortex are, as it were, also simple. Yes, and with complex tasks for beginners engaged in self-study, the desire is fought off immediately and motivation disappears ... but that's a completely different story)
