Which Macbook to choose for development? Air or Pro?
Greetings. I found some similar questions on the toaster:
What should I choose for development: MacBook Air or MacBook Pro Retina?
Which development laptop to choose with acceptable battery life?
Which MacBook to choose for web development?
But they were all set at least a year ago.
Need advice from a knowledgeable person.
I have read articles \ seen enough videos - they say that the Air line will be completely abandoned (or has it already been abandoned?).
The laptop is needed purely for development (several ide`shek [a la intellij idea] running at the same time, with fairly large projects). Maybe some light games.
Thanks

I'm wondering, those who write "of course Pro", what are they starting from? From the name or simply from the fact that they themselves bought Pro and advise it. I am writing as the owner of both laptops. I had the opportunity to compare them head-on, not for 10 minutes "to see with friends", but worked for them for quite a long time. Profile - web development and mobile application development. Models Macbook Air 13" mid 2013 Core i7/8Gb/512Gb. and Macbook Pro 13" mid 2014 Core i5/8Gb/256Gb.
In fact, they have not changed much since 2013, there is a difference of 10-15% with the 2015-2016 models.
So, the Pro has only one advantage - it has an amazing screen. Everything. It's heavier, hotter, runs less battery, eats more memory, has a less responsive interface. All this follows from a large resolution. Yes, this is an excellent device, it will give odds to many. But if you directly compare it with Air, with my work profile - Air wins Pro in all respects, except for the screen.
So I do not advise you to listen to what is written above without arguments, these are erroneous judgments. Pro makes sense to take if you really need a super-quality screen. It was difficult to wean from him, returning to the Air. But working for Air is more efficient for me due to instant responsiveness.
Of the Pro line, it is worth considering only 15 "2015 with a full-fledged Core i7 and discrete video, it has something to oppose to the rest.
