Which is more in demand for react/redux: redux saga or redux-thunk?

I'm starting a new project on react and decided to use redux saga in it (although before that I used redux-thunk) - I'll make a project and study the technology. But my former colleague-frentender was horrified - like generators are not in the trend, but in the async / await trend, so cut out the saga, use the tank. But when I recently ran through interviews, I met a couple of vacancies with a saga. I talked with peppers with mkdev - they also did not work with the saga.
Actually the question is - is this saga needed at the end of 2018? Can you really cut it while it sits shallow?

There are no such statistics, but there are much more projects on redux-thunk.
Yes, and the comparison is not entirely correct.
Plus, your friend's speech about trends is also such an argument.
"I'll make a project and study the technology" - a good approach, if you are confident in your abilities.

Rave.
The main thing is that you understand better, you know how better, you have mastered it better.
According to the mind - try both options on a good amount of tasks.
What is more suitable - work with that.
