what is the best way to start a newbie with Android Studio or Eclipse?

Definitely Android Studio.
Works faster, more stable. Uses Gradle to build, which I found more convenient.

I'm still writing on Eclipse, but now I think it's time to move on... How I didn't want to stay in my familiar environment... :)
