Which game engine to choose to study (I choose between Unity and Unreal Engine)?

I have experience in game development in writing the server side and writing the client side for social games, for the last few years I have been writing exclusively client code and C++ 2D games, I have worked with cocos2dx, popcap engines, I tried a little on unity for myself. I don't know c# well, I'm familiar with c++ and have been writing in it for a long time.
I want to develop further and study more seriously the engine that is more relevant at the moment, so that I can continue to be afloat and have the opportunity to find a job in demand on the market in a couple of years. I thought in the direction of UnrealEngine at first, but after I looked for the number of vacancies and compared it with the number of Unity vacancies, I began to doubt whether it was worth making a choice in favor of UE? Why are there so few vacancies at UE?
There is an understanding that UE is mainly taken for more serious 3D projects, and it is easier to make 2D games on the unit than on UE. I haven’t come across 3D projects yet and I don’t have experience there, but I want to learn in the future. The goal is to master one of these engines and learn how to do 2D and 3D with increasing complexity on it, but I would like to know your opinion which of the engines will be more in demand in the future.

Unity, as VadimFox said , is more demanding due to its simplicity (as they say), as well as its support for many platforms. Support like 3D? as well as 2D.
UE usually writes 3D games. As far as I know, 2D is poorly implemented in them. There are, of course, the beginnings of a platformer, but you will have to use 3D models.

Unity supports more platforms, has been around longer. Accordingly, it is more in demand, it is possible to rivet toys and programs with VR / AR support on it.
