Which functional language is more promising: Erlang or Scala?

Functional programming has been very popular lately, thanks to many tricks, but I'm still a lamer in this.
So where to start: Scala or Erlang(Elixir?)? What is more promising here / abroad? What's the Difference? And can they be taught without knowledge, Java, for example (in vacancies they are often together with it)?

each frog praises its own swamp, for me Scala is more promising, the working application is already a wagon and a small cart in all sorts of directions.
scala can be studied without knowledge of java, as a completely independent language.

None
Both will be promising when you have experience in the field and are offered a position with one of these
JPs Subjectively, erlang has a lower entry threshold and a narrow usage profile - highload

It's up to you to decide. In my opinion, it's better to learn both and add Clojure and Haskell. And then choose.
