Which direction to choose for the thesis?

I want to decide on the direction of the thesis, although I am finishing the 1st course. After the 4th year I am going to apply to foreign universities and I need a worthy thesis. Therefore, I ask for advice: where to dig in order to earn an interesting and complex thesis for the remaining 3 years?

Choose an interesting project and develop.
From my own experience, it is better not to take projects that will look weighty in the portfolio, but you will not have the desire to develop it.
I decided on my thesis at the beginning of the 3rd year, which is already very early, but then I wanted to change it 3 times. So it's better not to rush, but learn the basics. Then you can quickly write a project of any complexity.
PS A thesis is worthy if it coincides with the direction and is done well.

Everything is individual. But 3 years to lay down for writing a bachelor's thesis is too much. I wrote in a month and a half from scratch.
From myself I recommend developing some useful program, albeit a very narrowly focused one. Well, that is, I think, since you ask such questions on an IT resource, then your specialty is related to development in one way or another. And the text of the thesis will be much easier to write. Firstly, it will be 100% unique, and secondly, it will be relatively small, because in fact no one forbids writing it in the technical documentation format.

No one knows whether you wiped your pants at school and in your first year, or every day you go to additional circles in nuclear physics.
You need to dig where you understand. And where does your question on the IT portal - it's not clear at all.
