Which direction in programming or IT in general to choose?

Good day!
The situation is this. Received education in the field of information security. I worked as a freelancer - I ruled websites, sawed modules for online stores, and also repaired computer equipment. At the very beginning of the 4th year, due to a number of circumstances, I had to write an application on my own and leave for another city. For about 8 months I dealt with cases, worked as freelance as I could. Now, in total, almost a year and a half has passed. It so happened that here I already found a soul mate, and an apartment (mortgage). I needed a permanent job here, I applied for technical support at one Special Design Bureau, I have been working there for about 7 months of the last. We set up workstations remotely, we issue CEPs, we have already completed advanced training. There was still one permanent part-time job from freelancing. Hard - the working day is 10-12 hours. But I would like to go to the developers (and for a long time). I know a little C ++ (scientific work at the university was written in C ++), php, js, html. I have always been interested in the topic of game development. Started learning HTML5+JS+CSS3. I would like to have some result in a year.
Actually, the question is - is it worth it to go there? Or continue learning C++? Or try to restore interest in information security?
PS I also think later to finish my studies in absentia, while in thought. In my previous studies, I did research work on the topic of CSIS assessment, then I started research work on the topic of voice imprint, but did not finish (the reasons are indicated above).

Vitaly, from my own experience I can say that you can work as a developer only when you like the work. Therefore, the question should rather be raised not on the basis of previously acquired knowledge, but on the basis of aspirations and desires. The choice of sphere is for a long time, maybe for a lifetime.
I am also a security person in the past, and now a web developer. Why? Because the web is interesting. The web today is a collection of all kinds of frameworks, modules, libraries, technologies and languages. All this venigret allows you to choose your own style and development path. In addition, the web is changing very actively, which is very important for me personally - to always develop. Just yesterday, server-side MVC was in trend, and now SPA on MVVM is in trend - this makes you learn.
If you want constant change, if you want to make software for the masses, if you want creative freedom - choose web development. I can't speak for other areas.
