Which developers are easier to find - Spring on J2EE?

In our company, all development is based on Spring (Spring Boot, Spring JDBC, Spring MVC + AngularJS). Lately, I've been having trouble finding developers who are fairly knowledgeable about Spring or have had experience with it in general. At the same time, I see a lot of resumes that claim to own the J2EE stack. Considering that the technologies are very similar, is it worth starting new projects based on J2EE? Will it make it easier for new employees to join the project?

I will say in advance that this is not the answer you need.
I have not yet seen that the project technologies were selected for the ease of finding programmers, and not for solving a specific problem.
I would not say that the technologies described above and J2EE (which has been called simply Java EE for more than 9 years) are similar, and I think that the Spring stack is cooler than Java EE in many aspects.
And most importantly, a good java programmer will be able to switch to Spring (and at least should already have an idea about it).

The situation is something out of reality. People with J2EE experience will easily switch to Spring if needed.
I would even say that it is their responsibility.
If there is already a lot of code in the project(s), then the time to master the spring stack will be relatively short, compared to diving into the logic of the written (foreign) code itself.

So do you need a programmer or framework coder?
It’s impossible to know absolutely all technologies and understand each one deeply, it’s stupid to look for a person in the state according to such criteria, you can memorize spring’s documentation, but at the same time experience difficulties with the correct construction of code and the correct solution of problems. (roughly speaking)
It would be more correct to find an intelligent employee who can quickly get up to speed and learn spring to the extent that it is necessary. As you correctly noted, J2EE and Spring are similar. Employees always need to be trained, it is not so easy to find a person who is 100% suitable for you and will know all the things that are used by you.
