Which Debian distribution to install: AMD64 or x86?

Hello!
There is an AMD Phenom II X6 2.8GHz processor and 3 gigabytes of DDR3. I know that in 2016 this is not enough, but now it’s not about that.
Which Debian distribution to install? After all, the processor is made according to the 64-bit architecture, as I understand it, and the RAM is not enough.
The same goes for Windows. Now I have a 32-bit version of Windows. Maybe I don’t understand something and it was necessary to put 64?
Thanks in advance.

put a 32-bit system, it, along with applications, will eat ~ 20% less RAM, which will reduce interaction with the swap, which in turn slows down the system.
and you will not get profit from 64bit, well, except in specific applications, for comfortable work with which you still need a more powerful computer.
ps
64-bit is worth thinking about when the RAM is 4+ giga

Install x64, then buy additional RAM if needed.

32-bit is enough for the eyes
Purely from experience, with 32-bit it's easier with software, especially with the "left".
And so, there is no difference between them.

1. You can run 32-bit applications on a 64-bit system.
2. You will NOT be able to run 64-bit applications on a 32-bit system.
The only thing is that for case 1 you will need to install 32-bit libraries. Or build from source :)

In addition to all that has been said, I strongly recommend installing the original
https://www.debian.org/distrib/
from there.
and do not install other assemblies.
the last path is very thorny ... as practice shows.
