Mongo is a NoSQL database, it is used when there are too many records that mysql will not pull, besides, there are such nice things as collections, but there are also disadvantages.

MariaDB is a performance-optimized fork of mySQL. It is absolutely compatible with mysql, an ordinary developer will not notice any differences.
