Why don't you even consider adapting the current engine, namely leaving it for something else?

Any commercial one already has it and is made in the same way. The question is not in the integration module (which work the same way as they parse commerceML), but whether you have the correct data storage structure in 1C itself or not.

Synchronization works through external processing, which is open source. I think it can be modified so that the created order in 1C gets to the site.
