Which battery is better Lithium Polymer or Lithium Ion?

Hello, I'm choosing a phone between Xiaomi poco m3 and redmi 9T. They both have a 6000 mah battery, only the redmi 9T has a Lithium Ion (Li-ion) battery, and the poco m3 has a lithium polymer (Li-Po). I am not interested in other characteristics, also I am not interested in how much energy they consume .... I am interested in which battery is better Lithium Polymer or Ion? I read about lithium polymer on the Internet, I understand this is a new technology, so why didn’t they add such a battery to redmi 9T if it came out a couple of months later?! Which battery will last longer (by years)? Which one will discharge more slowly?
